| Sometimes woman just need to get away from the family and enjoy some vacation time. A foreign country or maybe just a trip to the beach will do. Wherever it may be, woman should always make safety priority number one. Here are some basic tips and techniques for woman traveling solo. Traveling can be a sole awakening and life changing experience. No matter where you go, the experience can be surreal. Do you know where you are going? This is the first step to being safe: planning ahead. Knowing where you’re going, what you will be doing and how long you will be there, will help you be prepared and ready for anything. If you are going to be using a plane or driving, remember to plan to get there during the day. Daylight is a lot better safer then night. It gives you time to adjust and prepare for the next day. When staying at hotels, everything should be convenient for you! Know where all the fire exits are and the fastest way to get out of the building. Choose a room that is near the bottom of the hotel. Dress like the locals. You don’t want to be the one sticking out like a sore thumb. If you’re not sure what other woman wear, research it. A quick search on google can provide images and articles on what to wear and what the culture is like. Keep your id, passport, and drivers license very close to you. If you’re the type of woman that always uses a bag, use a wallet and wear it in the front pockets. Have photocopies of all there where you can reach them fast. This is in case you are asked for some type of identification. It is better to show a copy rather than an original. As a woman, traveling alone can be a exciting and scary thought.
