Where to Shop in London

So you're planning a shopping trip in England's capital city? On the face of it this seems like a hefty task but once you know the main streets to visit and how to get to them you could be in for the shopping trip of a lifetime.  

Mention shopping in London to anyone who knows the city and they'll immediately think of Oxford street. They think of it for a reason; not just because it's wonderful but because it's the largest high street in the whole of Europe! With that considered it's not hard to believe that it offers bars, restaurants and cafes as well as Department stores such as Selfridges and John Lewis, mainstream shops such as GAP, Schuh and Top Shop and not forgetting luxury hotels such as The Mostyn.  

If you bear this in mind you'll understand that shopping in London doesn't then need to involve navigating complex underground routes, laden with hundreds of shopping bags and getting lost as an inevitability. You can arrive the day before and stay in a hotel, wake up and walk right onto the street where you will be shopping, eating out and drinking to relax as part of the package.  

For those who prefer a designer shopping experience in London it would be a far better idea to visit Bond Street where you'll find shops like Gucci, Cartier and Tiffany's to name but three. If you're in London for a short stay then you'll probably want to visit Harrods Department Store and you'll find this on Brompton Road, just south of Hyde Park.
